Metro station attack victim dies

A 65-year-old man has died in hospital after a stabbing attack at a Tyneside Metro station.

Northumbria Police said the man, who has not been named, was involved in an incident at Meadow Well Metro Station on North Tyneside on Thursday.

A spokesman for the force said the man died in hospital on Monday.

A post-mortem examination is to be carried out later. A 19-year-old local man was charged after the incident with causing grievous bodily harm.
