Man charged with computer thefts

A man has appeared in court after a number of computers were stolen from cars across Tyneside.

Twelve computers, recently purchased from retail parks, were taken from Newcastle, Gateshead and North Tyneside in the run up to Christmas.

A 27-year-old, from Fenham, appeared at South East Northumberland Magistrates' Court on Friday, charged with conspiracy to steal.

He did not enter a plea and has been released on bail until 22 January.
