A man was threatened with a Samurai sword and a baseball bat during a street robbery in Newcastle.

Police said his bag was stolen after a group approached him in the early hours of Sunday.

Two men, aged 29 and 30, and a 25-year-old woman were later arrested on suspicion of robbery.

A 29-year-old woman is also being questioned on suspicion of assisting an offender. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
