Credit cards taken in hotel theft

Image from bank's CCTV

Police have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to in connection with credit card fraud in Newcastle.

It follows the theft of cards from two people attending a conference at the Copthorne Hotel on 4 June.

It is believed someone entered the pair's room which had been left unattended for a short period.

The credit cards were then used to withdraw more than £5,000 from cash machines and over the counter at banks in the city centre.

The images show a man about to make a withdrawal at Lloyds TSB.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Northumbria Police.
