Teenager given rude gesture ban

David Key A teenager from Northumberland has been banned from sticking his fingers up at members of the public.

David George Key, 18, of Sycamore Avenue, Blyth, was given the order when he appeared at Bedlington Youth Court.

He faces up to five years in jail if he is caught giving a V-sign or making any other obscene gesture with his fingers.

Under his two-year Anti-Social Behaviour Order, he is also banned from causing harassment, alarm or distress and inciting others to do the same.

Sergeant Stephen Cochrane, from Northumbria Police, said: "Magistrates took positive action in this case.

"We will always seek to take action against the small minority who disrupt other people's lives.

"This order should prevent Key behaving in an anti-social manner and reassure the public this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated."
