Man attacked by fellow dog walker

A dog walker was left with a broken jaw after he was attacked by a man with a pit bull terrier on Teesside.

The 58-year-old victim was kicked in the head by the man when he tried to separate their two fighting dogs.

He had been walking through an alleyway at the end of Skippers Lane in Southbank when he was approached by the offender, believed to be in his 20s.

A police spokeswoman said that the attacker also repeatedly punched him in the head before fleeing.

It is believed the offender's dog was called Charlie and was light coloured with brown patches.
