Elderly man attacked after derby

An elderly man was dragged to the ground and repeatedly kicked following Saturday's Tees Tyne derby.

The 75-year-old was attacked by a group of people in an underpass on Dockside Road, Middlesbrough - known locally as Sailors Trott.

He was taken to hospital, but his injuries are not thought to be serious, according to police.

The Cleveland force said the area would have been busy with supporters at the time, and have appealed for witnesses.
