Man attacked over mountain bike

A man needed hospital treatment after being attacked in a Middlesbrough street by a gang who then stole his mountain bike.

The 18-year-old was approached by three men at the junction of Penrith Road and Crossfell Road on Sunday, though details have just been released.

He was punched and kicked to the ground, suffering cuts, bruises and he needed stitches to his tongue.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

The three men are described as being aged between 18 and 20, one had a distinctive black tattoo on his neck.

They made off the with victim's silver grey "Shockwave" mountain bike.
