Plans for a £10m sports and health centre at the University of Teesside have been revealed.
The university is consulting residents over plans to open the four-storey building in 2010.
It will include new dentistry training and sports therapy facilities and also provide expansion for the School of Health and Social Care.
Dental care will be provided for the people in the area and local PCTs are contributing towards dental equipment.
Professor Graham Henderson, University Vice-Chancellor, said: "I am delighted to announce our plans for the new sport and health sciences building.
"It will not only support our fast-growing provision in health and social care and sports therapy, but also allow us, for the first time, to deliver programmes for dental therapists and dental nurses."
