Knife used in off licence robbery

A shop assistant was threatened with a knife during a robbery at an off licence in Newcastle.

The armed raider fled with money from the till after threatening the female worker at Threshers on Station Road, Gosforth, police said.

The 66-year-old was left shaken but unharmed during the incident at the shop on Tuesday afternoon.

Officers said the man was in his late 30s, slim with dark hair. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
