No appeal for urinating attacker

Anthony Anderson A former soldier who urinated on a disabled woman as she lay dying on her doorstep has lost a bid to appeal against his three-year prison sentence.

Anthony Anderson, 27, was jailed in October, after pleading guilty to outraging public decency.

Teesside Crown Court heard Christine Lakinski was also covered with shaving foam after she collapsed in Hartlepool.

At the Court of Appeal of Thursday, two judges rejected his application for permission to appeal against the term.

During the hearing, Mr Justice Stanley Burnton, described Anderson's crime as "despicable".

He said the court was "unable to reach the conclusion that this sentence was arguably excessive.".

'YouTube material'

Last September a court heard how, on 27 July, 2006, Miss Lakinski, 50, was making her way home with a box of laminate flooring when she fell ill and stumbled into a doorway.

The defendant of Raby Road, Hartlepool, had smoked a cannabis joint and been drinking when he and two friends spotted her.

He tried to rouse her by throwing a bucket of water over her, before urinating on her and covering her with shaving foam.

A crowd had gathered around, watching and laughing, and the incident was filmed on a mobile phone with Anderson shouting "this is YouTube material.".

Miss Lakinski was later declared dead at the scene, the cause of death being given as pancreatic failure.
