Heroin worth £300,000 recovered

Heroin worth £300,000 has been seized from a car during a routine stop-check.

Two cars were stopped and searched on Borough Road in Middlesbrough on Wednesday night and several bags of powder were found in one of the boots.

A 39-year-old man, the driver of the car, and a 22-year-old, both from London, were arrested, as was a 22-year-old man from Middlesbrough.

Cleveland Police said six bags were seized containing half a kilo each of drugs. The men are being questioned.
