Man jailed for severed ear attack

A 22-year-old man has been jailed for five years after a street attack in which another man's ear was cut off.

Andrew Laws, of Mendip Crescent, Worthing, West Sussex, was sentenced at Chichester Crown Court after pleading guilty at an earlier hearing.

He was charged with causing grievous bodily harm after the attack on a 21-year-old man in Vancouver Road, Worthing in August last year.

Sussex Police said the victim of the crime would be scarred for life.
