Seaside rescue boat up for sale

Hastings Borough Council Rigid Inflatable Boat

A safety boat used by lifeguards to patrol a busy beach in East Sussex over the past decade is up for sale.

The Hastings Borough Council Rigid Inflatable Boat, which seats eight people, will be replaced by a smaller, more cost-effective vessel.

It comes complete with ship-to-shore radio and a beach trailer with balloon tyres, which are in need of repair.

The council said the boat had been a "reliable piece of equipment". Offers of about £2,000 will be considered.
