Car abandoned after hitting house

Brighton house hit by car

Police in Sussex are hunting the occupants of a car which crashed into the side of a house in Brighton.

The fire service was called to shore up the four-storey building in Egremont Place after the Range Rover skidded off the road in the early hours.

A police spokeswoman said the vehicle was abandoned at the scene and two men and two women were seen running away.

She added officers were investigating the circumstances of the crash and contacting the car's registered owner.

The crash caused extensive damage to the ground floor flat at the property.
