Raiders escape with Rolex watches

Four men who were involved in a raid on a watch shop in Brighton are being hunted by police.

Several Rolex watches were stolen from Watches of Switzerland in Ship Street.

Three of the men wearing paper overalls and dust masks entered the shop at about midday and used sledgehammers to smash through interior glass panels.

The robbers and a driver left in a silver Volvo. The car was abandoned on Prince Albert Street and the men made off on foot towards the seafront.

Sussex Police said they had recovered the car for a forensic examination and were seizing CCTV footage from the area.

A spokesperson for the force said: "The total value of the stolen property is unknown at this stage."

Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
