Man charged over store stabbing

A 21-year-old man has been charged with the attempted murder of a woman following a knife attack in a West Sussex supermarket.

Samuel Reid-Wentworth, of Longford Road, Bognor, will appear before magistrates at Worthing on Thursday.

A 20-year-old woman was seriously injured in Somerfield in Anchor Springs, Littlehampton, on Tuesday.

She suffered multiple wounds and remains in a critical condition in hospital.

The woman was transferred to Southampton for specialist treatment after initially receiving emergency surgery at Worthing Hospital.
