Dead body on beach investigated

A dead body has washed up on a East Sussex beach.

The body came ashore at Rottingdean in Brighton at about 1600 BST on Monday, police said.

The death is not being treated as suspicious, but the coroner's office will launch an investigation into the matter.

Officers are also carrying out inquiries to find out whether the incident is linked to reports of a body in the water on 19 August.
