C.diff bug forces ward to close

A ward at an East Sussex hospital has been shut after two patients were found to have the Clostridium difficile bug.

Eastbourne District General Hospital has closed the Cuckmere ward to new admissions following the discovery.

East Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust said they had taken the action to help contain the situation and prevent a larger outbreak.

A spokesman for the trust said a deep clean would now be carried out on the affected ward.
