Bus boy injured in car accident

A nine-year-old boy was seriously injured when he was hit by a car on a road in East Sussex.

The boy was struck as he got off the number 1 bus in Portslade, near the community college on Chalky Road, at about 1030 BST.

He was taken to hospital in London by the Sussex Air Ambulance where he is currently in a serious condition.

The driver of the car was uninjured and police have appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
