Body found in missing man search

A body has been found in woods in Surrey by police officers searching for a man missing for six months.

The man's body was found in a heavily wooded area close to a track leading from the Fan Grove caravan park in Longcross Road, Lyne, on Thursday.

It is believed to be that of Kevin Patterson, 39, who went missing from the Abraham Cowley Unit at St Peter's Hospital, Chertsey, in July last year.

Police said a post-mortem examination was due to be carried out later.
