Man seriously hurt in stab attack

A man has been arrested over the stabbing of a 38-year-old man in an area of Woking.

Surrey Police said officers were called to Walton Road, Maybury, following a report of an assault at about 0120 GMT on Thursday.

A man was taken to St Peter's Hospital for treatment where his condition is "described as serious but stable".

A 28-year-old man has been arrested and is currently being questioned. Officers appealed for witnesses to the incident.
