Woman, 77, injured in road crash

A 77-year-old woman was seriously injured when she was hit by a Mercedes estate car in Surrey.

The woman was taken to the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford after the accident, which happened in The Borough, Farnham, on Tuesday morning.

Her injuries are said to be serious but not life-threatening.

The road was closed while police remained at the scene, with traffic being diverted along Castle Street and on to Upper Hale Road.

Surrey Police are investigating the circumstances of the incident and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
