One dead and four hurt in crash

A passenger has died and four more people have been injured in a head-on collision in Surrey near the Devil's Punch Bowl beauty spot.

The accident happened when a Ford Fiesta travelling northbound on the A3 at Thursley late on Friday hit another car heading southbound.

The passenger in the Fiesta was declared dead at the scene.

Surrey police have appealed for anyone who saw the accident or the cars beforehand to come forward.
