Attacker grabs woman around neck

Scene of Hove assaults

A 38-year-old woman has been assaulted by a man who grabbed her around the neck in an area of Hove where 12 other attacks have been reported.

Sussex Police said they were not at this stage linking Saturday's incident in Livingstone Road with the other indecent assaults in the area.

But officers are investigating the assault, which took place at 0140 BST, and have appealed for witnesses.

The offender let go of the woman and ran away when she screamed out.

He is described as white, in his mid-20s and was wearing a light top and blue jeans.

Police have warned women to take care when out late at night in the area and not to walk alone.

The previous assaults took place in Livingstone Road, The Drive, Cromwell Road, Clarendon Road, Goldstone Road, Clarendon Villas and Coleridge Street.

Officers said descriptions of the attacker varied.

But they are looking for a man in his 20s, of slim to medium build, between 5ft 5in (1.64m) and 5ft 9in (1.75m) tall and often described as of dark European or Asian appearance.
