Women in a south coast resort have been warned to be on the alert as one man has carried out a series of indecent assaults.
Sussex Police said women aged between 16 and 38 had reported 12 separate attacks in Hove. They said the man may also have approached other women.
The incidents took place between March and July this year, mainly around an area to the east of Sackville Road.
The man's behaviour is said to be "particularly intimidating" to women.
"We do not want to alarm women, but are asking that they remain alert," said Insp Andy Richardson.
"I would urge women to take extra care when out late at night, and not to walk alone."
Sudden assaults
The assaults have taken place in The Drive, Cromwell Road, Clarendon Road, Livingstone Road, Goldstone Road, Clarendon Villas and Coleridge Street.
Insp Richardson said the descriptions of the man vary as the offender attacks suddenly, sometimes from behind.
Officers are looking for a man in his 20s, of slim to medium build, between 5ft 5in (1.64m) and 5ft 9in (1.75m) tall and often described as of dark European or Asian appearance.
"We would appeal to anyone who has seen a man loitering in their area at night, or any suspicious activity, to call us," said Insp Richardson.
"If you are approached by such a man, dial 999 immediately."
Police also want to hear from other women approached by the same man.
House-to-house inquiries have been carried out, along with stop checks on people in the area.
