Motorist flees scene of collision

A motorist who ran from the scene of an accident after his car left the road in Surrey is being sought by police.

Officers said his Toyota Hilux collided with a Toyota Corolla and a telegraph pole in Clockhouse Lane, Ashford, before crashing through a garden wall.

He then ran off in the direction of Reedsfield Road, and despite a search by police with the aid of a helicopter and a dog unit he could not be found.

Police said he was likely to have been hurt, although no-one else was injured.

The man was described as white, in his 20s, and with dark, curly hair.

He was wearing a light blue T-shirt and dark baggy shorts at the time of the collision, which happened at 0924 BST.
