Golf days help pay for baby cots

Hospital staff and baby cots Fifty new cots have been handed over to a Surrey hospital thanks to two charity golf events and other fund-raising.

The maternity unit at St Peter's Hospital, Chertsey, was the recipient of the replacements for its "rather old and tired cots".

The hospital's League of Friends benefited from a charity day at Burhill Golf Club, in Walton-on-Thames.

The group also arranged its own golf day at Sunningdale Ladies Club, in Berkshire, which raised £4,000.

The money from the golf events was topped up with other donations to reach the £15,000 total needed for the new cots.
