Man, 50, charged over 1990 rape

A 50-year-old man from Suffolk has been charged with raping a 17-year-old girl nearly 20 years ago.

Phil Collins, of Dickens Road, Ipswich, is accused of raping the girl in Gippeswyk Park, Ipswich, and four other sex offences.

He was remanded in custody to appear at South East Suffolk Magistrates' Court later.

The investigation into the attack in January 1990 was reviewed by Suffolk Police last year.
