Work begins on £181,000 skatepark

Construction work has begun on a £181,500 skate and BMX park in Lowestoft, Suffolk.

Work is due to take 16 weeks and the site is expected to be opened with a community event.

A number of designs were suggested and skateboarders and BMX riders were asked to vote for their preferred design.

Funding has come from the Big Lottery Fund, Waste Recycling and Environmental Group, Suffolk Environmental Trust and Lowestoft Together.
