Inquest opens into woman's death

An inquest has been opened into the death of a woman who died when a fire broke out in her Suffolk home.

Irene Ann Conway-McGovern, 66, was found in the property in Brandon Road, Mildenhall, on 12 November after neighbours raised the alarm.

Firefighters brought her out of the ground-floor flat but attempts to resuscitate her failed.

Suffolk Police said an inquest into her death had been opened and adjourned for further enquiries.
