Moves to redevelop fire station

An old fire station in a Suffolk town is to be demolished on Saturday and a new state-of-the-art building is to take its place.

Needham Market fire crews will be temporarily moved to an industrial unit nearby in Maitland Road while the demolition and new building happens.

The move will allow firefighters to continue to serve the local area.

The new fire station on the same site which will be home to modern facilities for training.

The new fire station is part of the Suffolk Fire Service's £27m of investment in the demolition or refurbishment of 10 fire stations.
