Four rescued after chip pan fire

Four people have been taken to hospital after a fire which was believed to have been caused by a burning chip pan.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said two of the residents of a flat in Lowland Road, Huntington, were rescued by a neighbour.

Two fire crews were sent to the flat near Cannock after the call out at about midnight, a spokeswoman for the service said.

Two children and two adults were taken to hospital, she said.

The spokeswoman said they were treated with oxygen at the scene before being taken to hospital.
