Motorcyclist, 20, killed in crash

A 20-year-old motorcyclist has been killed in a crash in Staffordshire.

He appeared to lose control of his vehicle after being overtaken in Dove Way, Uttoxeter, at about 1615 BST on Thursday, Staffordshire Police said.

Ambulance crews and a passing doctor and two nurses tried to help the man, who had crashed into a barrier, an ambulance service spokesman said.

He added: "Nothing could be done to save the man and he was sadly confirmed dead at the scene."

The road was closed for three hours after the incident. Staffordshire Police appealed for any witnesses to the crash to contact officers.
