About 30 firefighters tackled a blaze at a pottery factory in Stoke-on-Trent.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue was called by police to the Aynsley China works in Sutherland Road, Longton at about 0415 GMT.

Fire crews said a rubbish fire on the first floor was well alight behind the shop in a working part of the factory.

A search team was sent in but no-one else was found inside the building. The fire was put out at 0643 GMT and the cause is being investigated.
