Driver killed in motorway crash

A driver was killed when his car left a motorway and rolled down an embankment in Staffordshire.

No-one else was injured in the crash between junctions 14 and 15 of the M6 at about 1330 BST on Sunday.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said crews found a car that was believed to have "travelled down an embankment and overturned".

He added that unfortunately nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead at the scene.

The county air ambulance, three ambulances and a rapid response vehicle were sent to the incident.
