Protest letters over incinerator

Four Ashes

Hundreds of letters objecting to proposals for a new incinerator have been sent to planners.

Staffordshire County Council wants to build the plant, near Four Ashes, Staffordshire, saying it could generate enough power for about 24,000 homes.

However, the authority has so far received more than 400 letters calling for it not to go ahead.

Comments are still being accepted until the council debates the plans, which is expected to be in November.
