Farm worker killed by hay baler

A farm worker has died after becoming trapped in a hay baler on a farm in Staffordshire.

Police said the 61-year-old man was operating the machine alone at a farm in Shapley Heath near Hilderstone, on Tuesday afternoon.

Paramedics were called to High Forest Farm where they pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Staffordshire Police and the Health and Safety Executive are to investigate the circumstances of the man's death.
