Motorcyclist killed in collision

A motorcyclist has been killed in a crash in the Staffordshire Moorlands.

Police said the rider was involved in a collision with a Land Rover, which was towing a trailer, along a road in Alton, near Uttoxeter.

The crash took place on Wednesday afternoon. The motorcyclist was declared dead at the scene.

Police said the Land Rover had been travelling towards Denstone and the motorcyclist was going in the opposite direction.

The Land Rover driver was unhurt but treated for shock, an ambulance spokesman said.

Police have appealed for witnesses.
