Man 'serious' after car hits tree

A car has collided with a tree leaving a 23-year-old motorist in a serious condition.

The man was driving a Subaru Impreza when it left the B5405, the Newport Road in Seighford, Stafford, during the early hours.

He was travelling from Great Bridgeford towards Woodseaves.

The driver, who was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire, is from the Newcastle-under-Lyme area.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Staffordshire Police.
