Men killed in car accident named

Police have named both men who were killed in a car crash in Staffordshire on Tuesday morning.

The head-on collision happened at about 0540 BST on the A53, close to the M6 bridge near Whitmore, police said.

On Thursday, 67-year-old Frank Pickering, from Hamil Road in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, was named as one of the crash victims.

The other man who died in the crash has been identified as Richard Benbow, 21, from Ashley Heath, Staffordshire.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident to come forward.
