Man named after car plunge death

A man who died after his car plunged over a cliff in East Sussex has been named by police.

Geoffrey Monk, 77, from Banbury, in Oxfordshire, was killed when his Toyota Rav 4 went over Beachy Head near Eastbourne on Monday.

Officers have also appealed for help identifying a second body found at the scene before the crash.

The man is thought to have been washed ashore, and his death is not being linked to the first incident.

He was aged between 20 and 30, was about 5ft 8in (1.72m) tall, and wore a navy blue fleece with hooped sleeves and the word Ferre on the left breast.

He also wore size seven Fila trainers with velcro fasteners and dark jeans.

Police have appealed for anyone who may recognise the second man to contact them.
