A judge has halted the benefit fraud trial of glamour model Jordan's former nanny after hearing the celebrity's husband has suspected meningitis.
Jordan was due to give evidence at Lewes Crown Court on the first day of the trial of Joanne Hillman, 33, of Cowley Drive, Brighton, East Sussex.
Ms Hillman has denied falsely claiming benefits while working for the model between June 2003 and May 2005.
She was granted bail until 8 October, when her trial is set to go ahead.
Jordan, 28, who lives in Ockley, Surrey, and whose real name is Katie Price, failed to arrive at the court on Monday despite attempts by officials to contact her.
'Unfortunate' situation
After two adjournments, prosecutors finally managed to get in touch with her agent, who said she would not be able to come to court this week because she was with her husband, the pop star Peter Andre, in hospital.
Judge Anthony said it would be "inappropriate" to force her to attend given the circumstances, but described the fact her husband's illness had coincided with the trial as "unfortunate".
The model has been keeping a vigil by the bedside of Andre, 34, since he was admitted to the East Surrey Hospital, in Redhill, on 22 April.
Australian Andre has had numerous tests, including a brain scan, but it is not yet known whether he may be suffering from viral or bacterial meningitis.
The charges faced by Hillman relate to when she worked as a horse groom, nanny and cleaner for Jordan, who was then living in Maresfield.
She is accused of failing to promptly tell the Department for Work and Pensions and Brighton and Hove City Council that she was working, which "she knew would affect her entitlements" to income support, housing benefit and council tax benefit.
