Scruffs get chance to show class

A dog A dog show with a difference took place in Hove on Sunday.

The organisers of Scruff's Dog Show say it was to celebrate dogs with more diverse characteristics such as the waggiest tail and best party trick.

Other prizes went to the "prettiest bitch", "most handsome dog" and the winner of the sausage and cake race.

The event was used to highlight the problem of stray dogs and the increased chances of animals wandering through doors or gates left open on hot days.

The Scruff's show took place at St Ann's Well Garden as part of the Brunswick Festival.

There were seven classes with the winner of each competing for the title of best in show.
