Teenage girl raped by masked man

A masked rapist who attacked a 16-year-old girl in an alleyway in South Yorkshire is being hunted by police.

The girl was walking on Wath Road towards Mexborough town centre when she became aware of a vehicle approaching her from behind.

A man then grabbed and dragged her into a nearby alleyway.

The attack happened at about 2025 BST on 30 June. Police said the attacker was wearing a balaclava and is about 5ft 9in tall.

A police spokeswoman said: "Witnesses are asked to contact South Yorkshire Police on 0114 2 20 20 20."
