Man charged with 1984 rape attack

A man has been charged with the rape and abduction of an 18-year-old woman in Sheffield 24 years ago.

Fifty-one-year-old Joshua Priest, previously known as Robert Wilson, was arrested last Wednesday as part of a cold case review.

Mr Priest, from the Broomhall area of Sheffield, is alleged to have attacked the woman in October 1984.

South Yorkshire Police said he was due to appear before Sheffield Crown Court on Thursday.
