Murder charge over woman's death

A 34-year-old man has been charged with murder after a woman was discovered at a flat in South Yorkshire.

The body of Joanne Cooley, 27, was found in the kitchen of the property in Fieldside, Thorne, shortly after 2230 GMT on Thursday.

She had suffered multiple injuries, police said.

South Yorkshire Police said Jason Goodwin, of Fieldside, was due to appear before magistrates in Doncaster later charged with her murder.
