Biker, 27, killed in road crash

A man has died after it appeared he lost control of his motorcycle in South Yorkshire.

The 27-year-old was travelling along the A631 Bawtry Road in Tickhill towards Bawtry when the crash happened.

Police said the man, from Bawtry, came off his green Kawasaki bike into a field at 1420 GMT on Wednesday. The bike slid back on to the road.

The rider sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital by air ambulance where he later died.

Police are appealing for witnesses and would like to speak to the rider of a pedal cycle who may have witnessed the incident.
