Axe and revolver used in robbery

A staff member was assaulted by a group of men armed with an axe and revolver during a robbery in Bradford.

The five robbers stole cash from a money transfer business on Cornwall Road in the city on Tuesday morning.

Police said the male victim was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary with minor injuries and later released.

Police said two of the attackers were described as black and three of them Asian in appearance. Officers are asking witnesses to contact them.

Det Con Sean Donoughue said: "This incident took place quite close to Bradford City football ground where there are a lot of business premises.

"It is possible someone going to work may have seen a group of people acting suspicious near Cornwall Road."
