A South Yorkshire school forced to close after a swarm of wasps stung more than 30 pupils has reopened.
A hidden wasps' nest in the quiet area at Herringthorpe Junior School in Rotherham was disturbed by children playing during break time.
One child went to hospital after suffering several stings to her back but is said to be "fine and at home".
The nest has been treated by pest control officers and the school is now open as usual.
Headteacher Jane Fearnley said: "Approximately 30 pupils were stung and received treatment at school. One pupil had to be referred to hospital after extensive stinging to her back.
"Staff were also stung as they attempted to keep the wasps away from the children.
"The nest has now been treated. Having carried out a risk assessment, we took the decision to close the school on Wednesday."
The infant school on the same site was unaffected.
